A.B. Richards has the right ground-level portable storage containers for your portable storage needs, and we’ll deliver those storage containers right to your location. So we want you to know as much as you can about how each unit is delivered.
The first step is easy, pick up the phone and call one of our trained staff members, and decide which of our units will best fit your storage requirements. Note that the size of the unit you choose will affect how it’s delivered. If you order a 20ft long storage container, A.B. Richards will deliver it with a small, straight truck that’s about the size of a tow-truck. If you need one of our 40ft containers or our 40ft Jumbo container, it will be delivered on a tractor-trailer.
Making Your Storage Container Delivery As Easy As Possible
Finding the Right Spot for Container Delivery
It’s important to make sure your property or work facility is ready for delivery. Customers should take the time to find a suitable site for the unit that the truck is able to access. Be careful of putting the container in a tight spot. We recommend that the storage container is placed in an area which has at least ten feet of width to give the driver room to maneuver. All of our containers are eight feet wide. The driver will need enough space to be able to deliver the unit and drive out from under it. In addition to making sure the site is ready for our trucks, you should also prepare it for your needs. Find an ideal place where all who need to gain access to the container can get to it. Remember, that all of our units have doors that provide ground level access to the container. Keep this in mind when considering where to place the unit.
Beware of Delivery Hazards
Make sure the ground is level. Some customers buy plywood or railroad ties to level out the container. A.B. Richards is happy to place the storage containers on them, but please note that we do not provide these things. Another important consideration is to make certain that there’s enough clearance for the truck to pass without hitting any obstructions. Although our containers range in height from 8-feet 6-inches to 9-feet-six inches, our trucks are 13-feet high. If you know that there are low hanging wires or branches in the delivery area, please let us know in advance. It’s also a good idea to let us know if the truck may encounter any other potential issues such as difficulty maneuvering or if the delivery is going to be made in an area where it might affect a driver’s ability to see.
Watch Out for Delivery and Pickup Fees
There’s one thing every customer has a right to expect from their storage container’s delivery, a fair price. Some companies have hidden fees such as charging for both delivery and pickup. At A.B. Richards, we’ll let you know upfront what you’ll pay and you’ll never have to pay a separate fee for pickup of the container. We’re with you every step of the way from delivery to pickup and we have the products you need for whatever it is you want to store.
